My name is Samantha Barrus and I'm a 5th year student completing my degrees in Biology and Secondary Education; I am in the process of becoming certified to teach both general science and biology. My student teaching placements are so different but enjoyable in different ways; there's always something to look forward to when I go out to a school. Some of my favorite topics to learn about, discuss, or teach are marine biology, ecology, and academic coaching. Currently I am in the process of deciding whether I want to immediately go out in search of a teaching position, find an internship in the local area as an education outreach specialist, or apply to graduate school. When I'm not working or going to school, I often visit my family in Westerly, RI and enjoy exploring the state for little hidden locations. Other than that, I enjoy cooking, thrift shopping, or enjoying music in any form, especially live.
